Hey Tam High '64 Classmates!
OK, the reunion happened and it was a blast. If you missed it, you'll have to wait for the next one. We didn't run out of food and there seemed to be a lot to talk about. It would appear that grammar school is at least as important as high school in forming bonds, as classmates from Old Mill, Park, Homestead, Alto, Strawberry, Tam Valley and Richardson Bay grouped together in tight knots. Back when we were in school, it was not unusual to spend one's entire academic career with the same group of peers, a practice which may not be as common these days.
I think we all realize that we grew up in a beautiful place in a peaceful time, a more innocent age when we left our bikes without locks, when the 5 o'clock whistle meant it was time to go home, when we could play freely all over town without engendering parental anxiety. We have been blessed.
We should thank our classmates and orgainzers:
Chuck Locati <clocatitax@64cs.com>
Marsha Heckman - <mheck15@64aol.com>
John Wolley 707-823-8316
I know a lot of others contributed as well, including Dennis Hegg, Chris Schuepbach and Floyd Heckman (and others I might not know about).
Please direct your thanks for the event towards them.
We saw familiar faces, many of which appeared unchanged. I've posted pictures of the event on my mac home page. When I figure out how to post here, I'll do so, but for now, here's where you can find pix:
http://homepage.mac.com/jimxxjim/PhotoAlbum8.html
http://homepage.mac.com/jimxxjim/PhotoAlbum9.html
Please note that there are two albums of pix because I couldn't fit them all in one. If you hate your picture, let me know and I'll take it down.
Please direct your thanks for the event towards them.
I'd like to continue this contact process with profiles and updates, but for now, here's the list of who came to the event. I'll figure out how to make the list more user-friendly eventually, but this is what I have for now:

It's about time we got a webpage. I'll do my best to post anything and everything you feel like sending me, but I'm not very adept, so please be patient. Please feel free to send pix, bios, whatever represents you. I'll add the digits 64 to all e-mail addresses so that those evil e-mail sniffer bots may be foiled and not spaminate our doorstep. I also started a Yahoo group for our class (see below).
We have contact information on classmates I'd like to publish also, but I need to know how we feel about that. Is it an invasion of privacy to promulgate contact information? Let me know what you think - and here's how.
OK, so I finally got off my duff and made a Yahoo group. All information you'd need to participate appears below. Let's hear from you.
Congratulations! Your Yahoo! Group TamHi64 has been created. You
can access your group using the link below or from the Yahoo! Groups "My Groups" page.
* Your group information:
Group name: TamHi64
Group home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TamHi64
Group email address: TamHi64@yahoogroups.com
* Get started now:
Now that you've created your group, get started using it. View the
group home page, post a message, invite members, share files and
photos, create group calendar events, share links, create group polls,
and more. It's all easy to use. Just go to the group home page now:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TamHi64
My brother Charlie put together an admirable site for his '63 class http://www.sonic.net/~ckelly/Reunion/
Again, anything I get by e-mail may go on this site, so if you don't want something promulgated, let me know from the git-go.
No Longer Missing!
I got a note from Keith Krieger <keithkrieger@64yahoo.com> I'll post his pix on the Yahoo group until I can figure out how to do so here.
Meanwhile, here's an update from Columbus, Ohio:
My mother and father passed away about 10 years ago, independently of course. My siblings are all still kicking, although Rodney and Charmaine are the only ones we go out of our way to stay in touch with. They still live in Bolinas and Rodney still surfs and supervises construction projects. Their son Nick owns a surf shop in Bolinas and just got engaged. Darcy and I have five grown childern that originate from former marriages. Robin lives in Pittsburgh and is a free lance writer, specializing in investigative reporting. Wendy is married, has a one year old daughter, an is on the verge of getting her PhD from Pitt. Nicole lives in Santa Rosa and is about to embark on a church mission to a far away place. Rusty lives in Windsor (CA), is married and has a five year old daughter and a three year old son, who against all odds survived a life threatening liver condition as an infant. We are blessed to have him still with us. And finally is Aaron, who is a musician and a free spirit...
Believe it or not, I work for a bank. Some of us call ourselves decision scientists. That sounds pretty cool and is probably a decent two word description of what we do. When I describe myself as a statistician some of my colleagues (sounds better than co-workers) look down their long noses and say THEY are economists. As of July I work for JP Morgan Chase because of the most recent mega-merger de jour.
Darcy demo(s) (-nstrates, not -lishes) sewing machines in a quilt store where she bought a fancy machine. She is into domestic arts/crafts in a big way. (See attached photos. She made the costumes.) We came to Columbus a year and a half ago for a job opportunity for me after two and a half years on Lon Gisland (for a job opp...). Columbus is a nice place, but we still miss Marin, and especially Mt. Tam, and family, of course.
Oh yeah, about the reunion: Darcy and I were hoping to make it, but we won't be able to. We hope to see you at the 50th! I've attached a couple of pics. We'd love to hear how things are with you.
A note from Liz Jay: "I can't make it to the reunion, but I wouldn't mind my email addy being published. davisl@64eskimo.com "
And from Bob Webb: "I've been out of touch for 40 years, but would like to get in touch with members of the class of 64." Bob Webb webbswoods@64yahoo.com
Terry Brazell: "Dan Friedman gave me the info but I still haven't gotten anything on the reunion itself. You can put my usual e-mail on the site, terrybrazell@64hotmail.com. Looking forward to seeing you again."
Frances Stuart (Umlauf) -
Hi, all! Frances Stuart Umlauf, Class of '64, is alive and well and living in Park City, Utah, home of the 2002 Olympics. Life in Park City, is kinda like the way Mill Valley once was, unspoiled, and beautiful. My husband, Jim and I, have one son, who's 26 years old, living in New York, and working in Manhattan. We are retired !!! We ski, hike, and travel. Sadly, I report, that my sister, Shirley Stuart Michaelsen, passed away, due to complications of breast cancer, three years ago. She was in the Class of '66.
Best wishes and good health to all my former classmates! xoxo
P.O. Box 1028, Park City, UT 84060
Linda Allroggen (Peterson) I do hope more folks sign up for this darn reunion. I am looking forward to catching up on last 40 years with everyone! I recently relocated to Santa Barbara from Sonoma County for what I thought was the perfect job..(tho I may be back soon!). Have 2 grown children & 2 granddaughters and a "grand dog" (my daughter & husband have dog, but no kids yet). Before Santa Barbara, I lived in Healdsburg for 11 years, working in support of sustainable agriculture and the environment. Before that, I had many lives including marketing in high tech industry for 10 years. I was married once and divorced. thats the bare bones version. see you soon - Linda
Jennifer Buckley (Bunting)-
I wish I could come to the reunion this year, but I‚ve already made two trips out to California this summer (my mother is 94) and can‚t manage another. I've been living in Maine since 1979, now on a good-sized farm in Whitefield, where we raise Milking Shorthorn cattle and grow hay. I worked as an editor at WoodenBoat Magazine for fifteen years, moonlighted as E. B. White's "Sunday Help" for a couple of years towards the end of his life, and am now the publisher at Tilbury House (www.tilburyhouse.com), a small independent publishing company specializing in children's books about diversity, nature, and environmental issues, and adult non-fiction, mostly regional. I have three grown children in their thirties and five grandchildren ranging in age from one to eighteen. My husband is a maritime historian and writer. I look back at my years at Tam as key to my education. Those senior English classes and Mr. Wallace's speech classes (aaarrrggh!) have sure served me well!

Jim Kelly -
I live in Los Angeles with my two dogs. I enjoy swing and other partner dances, and I sing in a small madrigal group of musical friends. I sell an esoteric species of advertising and don't have to work very hard to enjoy a comfortable living. I am alone after the death of my Beloved ended our time together. I'm a 25-year+ HIV survivor.
